A different approach to movement

L'Ulivone di Canneto

While I was in Italy this summer, I stood in awe in front of L'Ulivone di Canneto - which is believed to be the oldest olive tree in Europe, at 2,400 years old.

It felt sacred, and I realized that this sacredness is not limited to that magnificent old tree, but is inherent in all of nature. Nature, which we are a part of, is not to be interfered with, but rather is to be observed and connected to, and it is through nature that we learn about ourselves.

Many things, like fear, can distract us from this connection, and lead us to believe that someone or something else has authority over our own self-knowledge. There is no authority on you outside of yourself.

This is a different approach to movement. It is about innate truth and freedom, not conforming to or striving to achieve an outwardly imposed ideal. And love, not fear, leads us there.
